About Ryan J Lawson
My Passion
I’ve nurtured a deep passion for visual storytelling for nearly 20 years, building a successful career in Chicago as a photographer, video editor, and producer. My journey began with photography — capturing meaningful moments — which naturally evolved into a versatile craft serving both corporate and individual clients. I specialize in polished headshots, event photography, and branding imagery for businesses, as well as personal portraits for individuals. In addition to photography, I’m an accomplished video editor and producer. In film school, I learned that one frame can tell an entire story, two frames create movement, and every frame after that shapes the audience’s experience. This principle, combined with hundreds of hours editing and uploading videos across multiple YouTube channels — including growing my own gaming channel to Partner status — has given me expert insight into narrative pacing, emotional impact, and audience engagement. I understand not only how to capture compelling visuals, but how to edit and optimize them so they perform across platforms. Based in Chicago, I’m known for delivering high-quality photography and video content that consistently resonates with my clients.
